💚 Sticky Eggplant, Tofu and Noodle Salad 💚 F 💚 Sticky Eggplant, Tofu and Noodle Salad 💚
From Salad For Days by @aliceinframes
This recipe calls for tofu puffs. This doesn’t happen a lot, but I had NO idea what those were! But I was intrigued. With the help of @avocadovandeduivel I got my hands on some. They are fluffly clouds of fried tofu that soak up sauce like a sponge. So, I could get started on this salad. Is it really a salad, though? And does that really matter? Nah! Gorgeous eggplant, udon noodles and tofu puffs that soak up homemade teriyaki sauce: yes, yes, yes!
🔥Cucumber Corkscrews with Gochujang Dressing🔥
Okay, these are going to become a staple at our house.
This salad from Salad For Days by @aliceinframes has everything you would want. It’s super fresh and crisp
but also packs a punch because of the spicy gochujang dressing. The crispy shallots add another crunch to the whole.
I’ve made it for a private lunch already and will be serving it at the next Tahini Bakery Dinner (19th of April) too. So do join us if you’re still hesitating!
💛 Sourdough Bread 💛 Once after a Tahini Bake 💛 Sourdough Bread 💛
Once after a Tahini Bakery Dinner, a diner told me her favourite dish of the evening was… the bread. And I can totally see that! Crunchy sourdough bread with something to dip it in, or with butter (I like to make vadouvan butter) is just the best thing ever. It’s not leaving the menu any time soon 😉
The last (for now) Tahini Bakery Dinner will be on April 19th and then I’ll focus on my blog, private dinners and lunches and catering for a couple of months. So be sure to get your spot at the table!
If you’d like to join the WhatsApp group where I post when I have baked goods etc to sell, send me your number!
Lots of love ❤️
❤️ Sourdough Nut Bread ❤️ Since the start ❤️ Sourdough Nut Bread ❤️
Since the start in September, Tahini Bakery has been busy! Event catering, Tahini Bakery Dinner, private dinners, private lunch, we’ve done it all! What I always love to serve, is homemade sourdough bread, of course. It’s been way too long since I did some inclusions, so I used up some nuts for this one. It’s walnut, pistachio, almond and pumpkin seed bread.
Today, I finally had the time to photograph some lovely food again too. AND the sun is shining.
Today was a good day for me, hope it is for you too ❤️

I used my new lame from @pitenpit.nl for the first time for this one!

✨Brownie Cookies with Tahini Cream and Halva✨ ✨Brownie Cookies with Tahini Cream and Halva✨
I have to admit, I tried this recipe twice and never got these cookies exactly right. That’s not what I’m used to with Ottolenghi recipes, so I’m sure it’s a me problem. The taste was always there, of course. Anything tahini will work for me any day 😍
I’m having such a hard time staying active on social media, because I am getting next to no sleep and we’ve been hit with this three week long flu thing that’s been going around 😫
Working on some exciting stuff, though! This month I’m cooking for a private dinner and a Tahini Bakery Dinner ❤️ I have some spots left for the one on March 22nd, so grab your seat now!
🥥 Coconut Rice with Veggies, Crispy Tofu and So 🥥 Coconut Rice with Veggies, Crispy Tofu and Soy, Sesame Chilli Sauce 🥥
Of all the recipes I’ve tested for the book Traybakes by Stefanie from @foodloveblog, this one is our absolute favourite. I’ve made this about ten times and it’s a hit every time. Oliver (who is a toddler by now?!) loves it too!
Using just one baking tray and still ending up with perfect rice, crispy tofu and loads of veggies is just the best. It requires a bit of oven time, but most of it is hands off, so you can load the dishwasher or keep your toddler from electrocuting himself while it’s baking.
We go back to this time and time again, it’s our go to when we have no clue what we’re going to make for dinner the next week. I get so tired of thinking of something to eat again and again sometimes 😫
And, AND it’s vegan and loaded with veggies.
💚 Vegan Cinnamon Rolls 💚 To be honest, I hav 💚 Vegan Cinnamon Rolls 💚
To be honest, I haven’t gotten into vegan baking at all, but @nom.eat’s ebook Vegan Bakklassiekers (Vegan Baking Classics) was the perfect start. I decided to get started with the cinnamon rolls and am happy I did. They turned out beautiful and made a couple of vegans AND non vegans verrry happy!
I’ll be trying many more recipes, as I have a couple of vegan clients to cater to. And any reason is a good one 🥰
Maybe this ebook is a fun last minute gift for a friend, or yourself? It’s written in Dutch, but Lisa should totally get it translated (I happen to be a translator 🤣).
Happy holidays to all of you ❤️
💚 Frittata Italian Style 💚 Another simple bu 💚 Frittata Italian Style 💚
Another simple but tasty recipe from Traybakes by @foodloveblog. It’s not only flavourful, but the addition of pesto and burrata makes this a rather fancy lunch or brunch, doesn’t it? Just look at those vibrant colours!
I’m sure you could make this with any veggies you have on hand. Makes me dream of spring and all the lovely vegetables that will be growing again. Can’t wait to start working on my veg garden 🥰
❤️ Sourdough Bread ❤️ Yesss, back in busin ❤️ Sourdough Bread ❤️
Yesss, back in business, baby! After reviving my own sourdough starter after a long hiatus (maternity leave, hands full, crazy tired), I couldn’t seem to keep it alive for long. Something was wrong with it, but I never found out what exactly.
Then, at @foodloveblog’s Traybakes book launch, I got to meet @annkoekepan, the real sourdough queen, in person. I managed to get my hands on a bit of her starter, and this loaf is the result of that! It feels so good to be baking this bread again, especially this season. We all just want carbs, right? Or is that just me?
I’ll be selling a couple of these babies in the next couple of months, so hit me up if you’d like to be in the whatsapp group with Tahini Bakery takeaway info!
Lots of love 😘
🥕 Hummus with Young Carrots 🥕 from ‘31 Min 🥕 Hummus with Young Carrots 🥕
from ‘31 Min Zot van Koken’ (31 mins crazy about cooking) by @loicfood. Whenever I can get my hands on a cookbook that promises really quick results, I go for it immediately these days. I don’t have my hands free often or for a long time 😅
This recipe delivered. It’s super quick but still full of flavour, with grilled carrots, sumac, tahini, honey AND a quick seed dukkah. I served this with homemade sourdough bread. Can’t go wrong with that combo!
It’s a really fun book and I’ve made three recipes from it so far.

🤍 London Fog Loaf 🤍 This was such a fun bake 🤍 London Fog Loaf 🤍
This was such a fun bake! I’m a sucker for anything bergamot flavoured, so early grey tea is my standard pick when drinking tea. But why stop there? This cake from Sweet Tooth by @bromabakery is made with, among other things, early grey tea, honey, vanilla and lemon flavours 😍 And I’ll jump at any chance to use those pretty edible flower petals.
This really is a winner! It was kind of refreshing to make a simple loaf cake again. It had been a while.
💚 Dutch Baby with Cottage Cheese, Salmon and As 💚 Dutch Baby with Cottage Cheese, Salmon and Asparagus 💚
Finally, I get to post this beauty 😍 I was lucky enough to test a few recipes for the newest @foodloveblog book, Traybakes, a gorgeous book full of (of course) traybakes to make your life easier, tastier AND reduce dishes. I loved recipe testing for her and some of the dishes have become family favourites. One, which I’ll post later, I’ve made maybe five times since testing it!
This Dutch baby worked out perfectly on the first try, and I just love how it’s loaded with good stuff. Salmon, quick pickled onion and asparagus, yes please. It’s the perfect brunch or lunch recipe, especially if you’d like to impress your guests, because LOOK AT IT ❤️
❤️ Tahini Bakery Supperclub ❤️ The very f ❤️ Tahini Bakery Supperclub ❤️
The very first Tahini Bakery Dinner was a success, and this weekend will be the next one. I can’t begin to describe how excited I am about all this. Finally I get to put my cooking skills to good use, and I get to bring people together around my table. I’m absolutely loving it and savouring every moment.
The next two dinners are fully booked, but you can still grab a spot on November 30th!
If you’d like to join my WhatsApp contact list for takeaway (sweet and savoury), send me your phone number and you’ll be informed when I have something ready for you!
Hugs ❤️
💚 Pici with Pesto 💚 From One Pot, One Porti 💚 Pici with Pesto 💚
From One Pot, One Portion by @eleanorgwilkinson (Eén Pan, Eén Portie). You’d think this is a bit daunting at first, but it was actually super quick to make, and very tasty. This book is, as the title states, for one portion recipes. As I have a partner who doesn’t eat lunch (🧐🤨), this is excellent for me. Hand rolling the pasta goes faster than you’d think, and a pesto is always made in a jiffy. I love how it came out!
People who love to cook for themselves, or single people, this one’s for you!
Love 💚
🍣 Wok Dynasty 🍣 This last month I’ve been 🍣 Wok Dynasty 🍣
This last month I’ve been sooo busy starting up my business and supper clubs, and have hardly been cooking dinner myself. So happy Wok Dynasty invited us to try their food.
The menu includes soup, cold starters (lovely sushi), warm starters, your choice of wokked veggies and/or meat, live cooking on the teppanyaki grill and loads of dessert options.
Had a lot of fun with my brother, sister and niece. We had never been out with the four of us (there’s a lot more siblings and offspring). Good times, good food ❤️

Thank you for having us @wokdynastyrestaurant @oserieux

💛 Sourdough Bread 💛 After missing the whole 💛 Sourdough Bread 💛
After missing the whole month of Sourdough September because my sourdough starter died and I was super busy, I think it’s time to start one up again. Maybe even start selling a couple of these babies? Would anyone be interested in buying one? I’m also thinking of selling other baked goods. It’s the season to drink some tea accompanied by a good slice of cake or a cookie, after all.
The first Tahini Bakery Dinner went really well. I got emotional when I heard all those people talking and enjoying their dinner while I was working (or maybe hiding?) in the kitchen. Truly, so much fun. Thank you to everyone who attended! If you’d like to join, send me a DM. I have a couple of spots left on 19/10 and 23/11. You’re so welcome at my table ❤️
😍 Ottolenghi Mashup 😍 After making the Dutch 😍 Ottolenghi Mashup 😍 After making the Dutch baby with oven-roasted tomatoes from Ottolenghi’s newest book, Comfort, I had some of this beautiful, syrupy tomato sauce left. I think it would go well with a lot of things, for example on sourdough toast, but I decided to do a mashup with an Ottolenghi oldie but goodie, hot charred cherry tomatoes with cold yoghurt. I made the cold yoghurt, topped it with the reheated tomatoes and added urfa chilli. Add a little bread to mop it up with and 👌
I’ve been cooking up a storm from Comfort, because the first Tahini Bakery Dinner is all about this book. I’m so excited about it, but also a bit scared 😅 If you’d like to attend one of the monthly Tahini Bakery Dinners (in Deurne, Antwerp), please contact me via DM or e-mail and you’ll be added to the contact list ❤️
📣 BIG NEWS 📣 Tahini Bakery is expanding! We 📣 BIG NEWS 📣
Tahini Bakery is expanding! We’ve outgrown this little Instagram feed and things are going to change 🤩
First of all, I’m moving my photo studio to @nest_antwerpen, a fun coworking space and place for your parties and gatherings. So no more photobombing kitties and no more sharing a room with a baby 😅
Also, Tahini Bakery will start selling baked goods and other food once in a while, to be picked up in Deurne (Antwerp). Catering can also be provided, at Nest or elsewhere.
And, most exciting of all, I’ll be doing monthly dinners for about 16 people. In a cosy environment, sharing plates, with a bunch of other food lovers. In Dutch I’d call it a huiskamerrestaurant (living room restaurant). A supper club, maybe? If you’re interested, send me an e-mail or a DM and I’ll put you on the list ❤️
And of course I’ll keep creating all that foodie content and focus on the blog to offer you all the recipes you might want.
Don’t worry, from now on all cooking and baking will be done in a clean, cat free, FAVV approved kitchen 😉This pic was just a perfect happy incident when I was taking my last photo at home and Tahini wanted to insert herself 🤣 I named my business after her, so it makes sense.
Cupcake recipe is ‘single serve vanilla cupcake’ by @bromabakery.
❤️ Dutch Baby with Oven-Roasted Tomatoes ❤️
As the main event of this year is getting closer, the release of Ottolenghi’s newest book, Comfort, I’m getting more and more excited about it. Maybe I’m secretly looking forward to fall as well? 🤫
I found a couple of recipes from Comfort in The Guardian, so I rolled up my sleeves and jumped right in. This recipe would be perfect for a brunch or lunch in those first crisp days of fall. It has eggs, of course, bacon and parmesan and cheddar cheese in it. Topped with oven-roasted tomatoes, that’s almost an English breakfast, maybe? 🤔 The tomatoes are sweet and a little syrupy and go really well with other dishes too. I used the leftovers for something I’ll show you later.
Can’t wait to check out the whole book. September 5th can’t be here soon enough 🤣 Love ❤️
💛 3pm Oat Biscuits 💛 From my fave new addit 💛 3pm Oat Biscuits 💛
From my fave new addition, Sift (Bloem, Suiker, Boter) by @nicolaalamb. She says she called them this peculiar name because she likes a little something to eat in the early afternoon, and I feel like we all do. (Or all day long, to be honest). These oat cookies aren’t too sweet, they have a nice little saltiness to them. Chocolate plus salt: perfection. Lovely little bites to have with a cup of tea 😍
They melt in your mouth.
I told you something is brewing at Tahini Bakery and I’m sooo close to revealing it, because I’m super excited about this new chapter. Soon I’ll tell you all about it.
Love ❤️
